Jade Cleansing Vase 玉净瓶

The Jade Cleansing Vase, or "Sacred Vase" as it is often referred to in English, is one of the Eight Buddhist Symbols of Good Fortune and contains pure water, the divine nectar of life, compassion and wisdom. The water can be used to relieve suffering.

Both Guan Yin (观音菩萨 guān yīn pú sà) and Tai Shang Lao Jun (太上老君 tài shàng lǎo jūn) are said to own one of these.

Artwork and statues of Guan Yin often depict her holding a Sacred Vase in her left hand, either upright or as if pouring.
