In the mountains1 there lives a snake called Chang She2 with hairs on its body similar to the bristles on the neck of a pig. The sound it makes is similar to sound a watchman's clapper3 makes. 

1 Da Xian Mountain (大咸之山 dà xián zhī shān)

2 literal translation of 长蛇 is "long snake"

3 an ancient Chinese wooden musical instrument
